Project Overview
The Word of Life team aims to solve a significant problem in youth leadership training by providing a scalable platform for delivering content, fostering community, and tracking user engagement. The project focuses on equipping youth leaders with tools for collaboration, continuous learning, and effective communication, all within a dynamic, accessible interface. They call this product MultiplyU.
Problem Statement
The core issue MultiplyU addresses is the lack of a scalable, accessible system to train youth leaders effectively. Traditional methods often lack structure, adaptability, and community engagement. MultiplyU seeks to overcome these challenges by developing an online platform that combines on-demand learning with interactive community spaces, ultimately empowering youth leaders and creating sustained engagement.
Design Approach
The project team started with a set of initial product goals and requirements, forming a strong foundation to guide the design process. Using these requirements, I worked to clarify the main challenges and began crafting a product that would be simple, intuitive, and accessible to a both group leaders and group members.
With a clear understanding of the goals, I started on the information architecture and initial wireframes, aiming to build a logical structure that would make sense to users worldwide. The design process evolved in phases, each with distinct goals and milestones, outlined below.
Research and Ideation
The team came with foundational ideas for MultiplyU, inspired by other industry-leading apps. To understand potential solutions, I researched video-focused educational platforms to draw insights on effective content showcasing and community engagement. I combined these insights with the team’s initial ideas, creating a baseline structure for our wireframes.

Wireframes & Information Architecture
With a solid understanding of user needs and industry standards, I mapped out the product’s information architecture, organizing it to support diverse user flows efficiently. Key pages were drafted, including the homepage, community forum, educational content, user dashboard, and regional access for missionaries.
Wireframing Process:
Initial Wireframes: Using the research insights and feedback, I created a first draft of wireframes, focusing on functionality, layout, and navigation flow.
Iterative Feedback: I gathered feedback from the team, refining layouts and adjusting features to account for all identified user flows.
Finalized Structure: After several rounds of edits, we reached an architecture that balanced all needs, delivering a structure that would engage users, streamline their journeys, and support community interaction.

High-Fidelity Design Exploration
With wireframes approved, I moved into high-fidelity (hi-fi) design. Since there was no existing design system, I created several design direction options for discussion. We ultimately chose a combination of the two directions, creating a unified, polished design with interactive and visually engaging components. I began building out key screens within this refined design direction, prioritizing clear layouts and easy navigation, which would serve as the foundation for all user interactions.

Full Build-out and Flow Integration
Once the design direction was set, I built out all screens and user flows, linking components across different pages to ensure a seamless experience. This stage was pivotal as it allowed us to visualize the product in its entirety, seeing the MultiplyU platform come to life with a cohesive, user-friendly interface.

Collaboration with Engineering
Throughout the design process, I stayed in close contact with the engineering lead to confirm technical feasibility and maintain alignment with our project timeline. This collaboration ensured that the design translated smoothly into a functional product.

Outcome
The MultiplyU platform successfully transformed leadership training into a scalable, community-centered experience, with intuitive user flows, interactive learning, and meaningful analytics. Through close collaboration, user-centered design iterations, and continuous testing, the final product not only met but exceeded the team’s expectations.
MultiplyU now empowers youth leaders globally with the resources, community, and feedback they need to lead effectively and sustainably. This project highlights the importance of flexible design, collaborative feedback, and a holistic approach to achieving a successful, impactful product.
